As legal and political battles over taking books off school shelves in Florida and other states continued, SB 1069 made it easier to object to books and instructional materials.
A group of three parents filed a federal lawsuit on Thursday, citing unconstitutional discrimination against parents who disagree with "the state's favored viewpoint," in opposition to a contentious 2023 Florida law that tightened oversight of school library books and instructional materials.

The program is part of a lucrative, unregulated industry designed to make kids recant allegations of parental abuse while yielding operators from $14,000 to $40,000 for four days of training.
Why is reform necessary?
California kids are being abused and, sadly like Piqui, have been killed because family court orders placed them in the custody of unsafe parents who are divorcing or separating.
The bill Piqui's Law was signed by Governor Newsom on October 13, last year and is in the senate.
